Tamil Protest in Toronto

On Sunday, May 10th, Sri Lankans upset about the terrible tragedy happening in their homeland – UN Condemns ‘bloodbath’ – held a rally which spilled over onto the Gardiner Expressway, a major downtown traffic artery.

In most cases, I admire those who get out and protest. I have spent my own time protesting for Israel and other causes. So I wondered why the activities on Sunday so disturbed me.

Pundits, experts, partisans and blowhards

So Dr. Dhalla had issues with some employees. Who cares?

So Bill Clinton got a hummer and did not want to admit it to the world. He was a president, not a priest.

So Sarah Palin lied about the bridge to nowhere and other things. We have forced politicians to lie because anything, truth or not, could be spun into a crisis.

Whither Twitter?

Honestly, I don’t have a lot of faith in the future of Twitter. While I understand the capability for real-time microblogs, I see it as an interesting capability of a more extensive social networking site.

I am staying with Twitter to observe possible changes and how users are leveraging the tool. Right now, it appears to have a few key areas of focus:

Eric Margolis – President’s way Bush league

I read this in the Toronto Sun this morning. Eric Margolis has an interesting and sometime controversial view of international issues. I find this column interesting and an excellent discusion about the US use of torture. The link to the original column is right here. However, given the malleable state of the Internet, I copied it below for posterity.
